Subject Line Analyzer:  While primarily used for Email marketing, the Subject Line Analyzer by aminstitute is very useful for designing slogans or catch phrases for your websites - which are important to PEOPLE. As the 100% lines tend to use 3 key words, they can be very relevant to your website when it comes to the Search Engines. Search Engines RECORD the words and phrases PEOPLE use. Capture their attention with a Power Phrase, you draw their traffic to your site, which the Search Engines take notice of.

Free Online Search Engine Submitter: Submits your link to about 40 Search Engines. It is a web-based submitter that is free to use. You will receive email from many of the Engines which will require that you verify your submission so be sure to use an email, like gmail, that does not block email from these venues.

WEBCEO:  While this is actually a paid resource they offer a free download and limited service that works just as well as the paid service. The free version is a useful tool to become familiar with the webceo itself and to handle one or a few websites. Besides analyzing your website to assist in seo, it also has an automatic submission service to search engines as well as a manual submission service.

Webceo is a powerful seo and website optimization desktop tool that gives you an indepth look at what Search Engines expect to see on webpages and and reports how your site will do in the engines. It looks at not only your meta tags: title, description, keywords - but at other factors as well; such your content  relative to the key words you are targeting, and the placement of your title and alt tags. Webceo does look at a number of factors that other search engine analyzers do not, and one of them is whether or not you have content containing your targeted key words with the last 150 words on your webpage. Another is whether your title tag is placed at the top of your website just below the <header>.

Let's look at some great free seo tools:

Check your website's key word placement in the search engines. Free online search engine seo ranking analyzer:
This online seo and website optimization tool checks your website and reports on how search engine friendly it is. It looks at a number of webpage elements starting with your meta tags:
  • Title
  • Description
  • Keywords
  • Author

It analyzes the length of your tags, and shows you keyword density relative to the content on your web page. Many time people overlook the Author of a website yet that can be useful when establishing a Company or individual presence on the Internet.

It also analyzes your links with emphasis on the number of links you have on your page. 100 is the maximum allowed for search engine friendly webpages.

This online seo and website optimization tool checks your website and reports on whether your website is placed in the top 40 on three major consumer search engines:
  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • Live

It also gives you a list of related keywords as well.

One of my favorite tools of Webcentro is this Page Keyword Analyzer. This tool shows you if your Is your page optimized for the right keywords! This seo tool analyzes five elements:

  • Title
  • Description
  • First H1 Tag
  • Body
  • Domain Name

The goal is to hit 100% in all five catagories. I found that a lot of scripts, and when using a website publishing tools like WebPageMaker, H1 tags are not automatically created for your sites. The following is the code you want to place between the <head> and end of <body> tag:

<STYLE TYPE="text/css">
H1 {font-family: Verdana,Arial,Times New Roman; font-size: 12pt; color: black}
</STYLE>
<h1>Xtream traffic exchange network auto surf traffic and manual surf traffic exchanges</h1>

To center the tag simply add <center> at the beginning and end of the tag.
<center><STYLE TYPE="text/css">
H1 {font-family: Verdana,Arial,Times New Roman; font-size: 12pt; color: black}
</STYLE>
<h1>Your title with keywords</h1><center>

Some scripts do not configure your meta tags properly either, so you may have to manually insert meta tags as well. A title tag would look like:

<title>Xtream traffic exchange network auto surf traffic manual surf traffic exchanges</title>

Your other meta tags would look like:

<meta name="author" content="You or Your Company">
<meta name="description" content="Description of your website. Include targeted keywords here in complete sentences. ">
<meta name="keywords" content="targeted keywords, seperated, by, commas,">

<meta name="rating" content="General">
<meta name="ROBOTS" content="ALL"
<meta name="Robots" content="index,follow">
<meta name="revisit-after" content="14 days">
<meta name="distribution" content="Global">
First goal is to anaylize your website and then optimize it relative to the Title, H! tag, description, and keywords. For most, we have to live with whatever domaiin we already have. It is good to keep in the back of your mind that Search Engines do rate your domain relative to your chosen keyword you are targeting for the next time you are domain shopping.

After you have adjusted your tags and content. There are other factors to consider. One is Linking and links to and from your website. Another is something called Page Rank or PR. We will look at both topics in future sessions.

SEO Notes

Things that seem to HELP your websites...

I learned this stuff from searching the web and reading articles, playing with WebCEO, Listening to Cherie...duplicating what she did on the Xtream Members site pages and using the Google tools and the SEO Centro site and others (my C-panel for example).

Things I did:
  • I put the main keywords in the title. Made the title shorter and removed as many "stop word" as I could. (and is a stop word)
  • I used my C-panel SEO tool and optimized my index page for Description size, number of keywords and for key word density.
  • I added  an <h1> tag and another in an <h3> tag. These tags had some of my keywords.
  • I added content with keywords at the bottom of the page.
  • I reduced the number of keywords and focused mainly the first three. Making sure these 3 keywords were in the Title and the description also.
  • I added formatting to the keywords in the content (bold, italic and size)
  • I added the following robot tags...not sure if any of these helped but I know they don't hurt.
       <meta name="msnbot" content="index,follow,all">        (This is the MSN Spyder)
       <meta name="slurp" content="index,follow,all">            (This is the Yahoo spyder)

One site I have read alot of information on is :
http://www.webconfs.com

Below is the link of The best and Worst practices they list for good SEO.
http://www.webconfs.com/15-minute-seo.php

Many of the Good Practices...

Title Tag: +3
Have keywords in the Title. Near the beginning. Title should be short, 7 to 10 words. This is one of the most important places to have a keyword because what is written inside the <title> tag shows in search results as your page title.

Meta Tags:
Keywords: +1 - Less than 20 words and use words that are in the content.
Description: +1 - Remove the "stop words" if possible. Keep the Description relitive and 60 to 80 characters long.

URL: +3
Have keyword rich URLs and filenames. If not in the domain, have keywords in the URL sub link or filenames.

Density: +3
Keep the major keyword density from 3-7%. Minor keywords from 1-2%. Keyword density of over 10% is suspicious and looks more like keyword stuffing, than a naturally written text.

Headings: +3
Have keywords in a text heading <h1>, <h2, <h3>. One more place where keywords seem to count a lot.

Content Change: +3
Add new content when possible. Adding new content is better than making small changes to exsisting content.

Site Accesibility: +3
Check the site for errors . Sites or pages have broken links, 404 errors, password-protected areas or other similar issues, then the site simply can't be indexed.

Site Size: +2
The size of the site matters. Generally spiders love large sites so the bigger, the better.

SIte Age: +2
Generally older sites have more respect and are more trustworthy. They have been around and are here to stay.

Site Theme: +2
The theme is important because when it fits into one theme it boosts the rankings of all the pages that are related to the theme.
