There are two parts to Apsense:
Part 1 - the iChannel:
The iChannel is where you SUBSCRIBE to the Publisher. In some respects it is like a Blog, only instead of subscribing online through your email service, you subscibe to the iChannel from your desktop. Unlike a blog however, there are no such things as comments. You simply subscribe to someone's service.
In order to subscribe to an iChannel, you first have to DOWNLOAD the Apsense software to your computer. It is free, virus-free, self-extracting, and very easy to install.
Once the software is installed on your computer, you simply go to the big GREEN + and enter the iChannel you want to subscribe to. In this case xtream. You simply enter the word xtream in the top box then save. You are now subscribed to the xtream iChannel. Now you will get the xtream daily updates which include bonus digital downloads from our extensive Digital Library.
You can also subscribe to OTHER publishers. Within Xtream Members there is estuff, freshhorizons, and xtreambliss. If you are a member of gotsafelist, they have an ichannel in which they publish their credit ads with.
Part 2 - the Apsense business social Network:
Apsense also has a business social Network you can join as a Member. This is different from being a Subscriber. When you join as a member, you can set up your own iChannels, blog, set up groups, communicate with other members, and do those things usually associated with social networks. It is free to join. You must upgrade to get maximum benefit from the Apsense social network.
Just because you join Apsense as a member does NOT mean you will get the iChannel news on your desktop from whom ever you want to receive news from. You HAVE to Subscribe to the iChannel. They are two entirely seperate things.
Common misunderstandings about iChannels Publishers and iChannel Subscibers:
- iChannels are not Instant Messaging. There is no 2-way communications. Subscribers receive your information as soon as it is published. Subscribers cannot publish comments or reply.
- iChannels are not Email venues. The system is direct-to-desktop. Subscribers cannot send replies, posts, comments, or questions.
An iChannel allows a publisher to communicate with to the subscribers instantly, avoiding all the issues involved with using traditional email.
APSENSE is a social business network membership you can join and create your own ichannels. It is an effective alternative to traditional email, especially for large companies who routinely send email to a large membership population. Important news, updates and messages are delivered on time, every time without being blocked by email server spam filters or being re-routed to bulk email servers which slow, or even prevent, email from being delivered to you.
