Benazir Bhutto

Benazir Bhutto was the first woman in the world to head a Muslim majority country and the 11th prime minister of Pakistan. She was popular for her fight against Muslim extremists but there were many accusations made regarding her bad governance and corruption. Benazir Bhutto’s life was taken when leaving a campaign rally on the 27th of December 2007. Bhutto stood up through the sunroof of her bullet proof car to wave and at this moment a gunman fired at her while an explosion took place. It was determined she died due to the blunt force trauma due to the explosion.

Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of the Indian independence movement against the British rule. He believed in non-violent movements and inspired civil rights and freedom rights movement across the world. Gandhi’s birthday is celebrated as a national holiday in India. Ghandi was shot at point blank range with 9 mm pistol. He was assassinated by Nathuram Godse who opposed Ghandi’s favouring of Pakistan and his non-violence doctrine.

John F Kennedy

John F Kennedy was the 35th president of The United States. Kennedy was the second youngest president and had one of the highest ratings of any president. He was the president during the Cuban missile crisis, which was the closest the Soviet Union and the US came to all out nuclear war. He was shot twice by a sniper on a political trip to Texas. The first bullet entered his back and exited from his neck and the second hit his head. It was an open car unlike armored vehicles Dubai. He was 46 at the time of death and to date is the youngest president to die.

Indira Ghandi

Indira Ghandi was the first female Prime minister in India and to date the only female Prime minister. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime minister of India and served till her death. She was named as the woman of the millennium by BBC in a 1999 poll. Indira Ghandi was killed by two of her bodyguards on the 31st on October 1984. Her death was due to the Operation Blue Star to eliminate the insurgents who were occupying the Harmandir Sahib Complex. Indira Ghandi’s son Rajiv Ghandi took over from her until his death which too was an assassination by a suicide bomber.
